di Venezia / Permanent Exhibition of Models by Students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice
Durante le giornate del festival vi sarà un’esposizione permanente di modellini realizzati dagli studenti del triennio dell’Accademia di Belle arti di Venezia, nell’ambito del corso di Tecnologie e materiali applicati alla scenografia della Scuola di Scenografia, Architettura di scena, Scenotecnica e Costume. Il corso è tenuto dalla Prof.ssa Cristina Alaimo.
During the festival days, there will be a permanent exhibition of scale models created by third-year students from the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, as part of the course Technologies and Materials Applied to Scenography from the School of Scenography, Stage Architecture, Stagecraft, and Costume. The course by Prof. Cristina Alaimo.
L’esposizione è intitolata: Che forte! Diorami scenografici liberamente ispirati agli edifici di Forte Marghera.
Il termine “diorama” indica, per definizione, l’atto di osservare attraverso o dentro qualcosa e si riferisce alla creazione di modelli in scala che riproducono ambienti specifici. Queste opere sono spesso un invito a una visione attenta e profonda del luogo rappresentato. I nostri diorami nascono con l’intento di stimolare questa capacità di osservazione, trasformando la manualità in un gesto creativo sensibile.
Lo sguardo si è concentrato sulle caratteristiche peculiari degli edifici che popolano la storica Fortezza di Marghera. I fabbricati sono stati prima disegnati e successivamente tradotti in modelli plastici, concepiti come scenografie per ipotetiche produzioni cinematografiche in stop-motion. Ogni edificio, scelto liberamente, è stato trasformato e reinterpretato secondo un punto di vista personale, che ne ha modificato l’aspetto per restituirne una visione unica.
Non ci si è limitati a riprodurre la forma fisica degli edifici, ma si è cercato di restituire anche la loro patina storica e il carattere distintivo. Sebbene non si tratti di riproduzioni fedeli, è possibile, passeggiando nello spazio circondato dal canale che delimita il Forte, riconoscere e ritrovare gli elementi che compongono queste creazioni, riorganizzati in un collage plastico.
The exhibition is titled How Cool! Scenographic Dioramas Freely Inspired by the Buildings of Forte Marghera.
The term "diorama" refers, by definition, to the act of observing through or into something, and it involves the creation of scale models that replicate specific environments. These works often serve as an invitation to observe the represented place with depth and attention. Our dioramas were created with the aim of stimulating this observational ability, turning craftsmanship into a sensitive, creative gesture.
The focus was placed on the unique features of the buildings that populate the historic fortress of Marghera. The structures were first drawn and then transformed into scale models, conceived as scenographies for hypothetical stop-motion film productions. Each building, freely chosen, was transformed and reinterpreted through a personal lens, altering its appearance to offer a unique vision.
Rather than simply replicating the physical form of the buildings, the students aimed to capture their historical patina and distinctive character. Though not faithful reproductions, visitors walking through the area bordered by the canal surrounding the Fort may recognize and rediscover elements of these creations, reorganized into a sculptural collage.
